A letter to the church of America,
Unto the angel of the church in America I write:
Before the election, There should have been prayer. After the election there still should be prayer. No arguing and definitely not name calling. Our job, Has been the same: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." 1Tim 2:1,2
Scripture simply says #1 Pray for everybody, but it distinctly says for "kings and all that are in authority". That scripture is still in affect for us today. What I love about it most is that it also says "that WE may lead a quiet and "peaceable" life, in all "Godliness"." There is nothing Godly and peaceable in quarrels. Yes, there is freedom of speech and free will. But your free speech is judged on God's standard. Just because legally you "CAN" do/say something or anything does not mean God agrees with it. God does not cosign anything that goes against His character. You don't have to like what someone does but loving them has never been optional, it should come naturally from you all. Why? Because Christ is in you. I have not looked at anyones thoughts on the winner of the presidential election, nor do I plan to because God can get the Glory out of any situation. No matter who is in that whitehouse, Guess who's still on their throne? God! God's Glory is shown most when things look inpossible! Do you trust God? Not do you trust a man or woman who was running for president, but do you truly trust God?
This new Presidency will speak volumes. Yes, understand that its going to speak volumes about you and how you conduct yourself. It's not about how someone else is, it's about how you are. It's not about what someone else did or does, it's about what you do. You cannot control another person (Even a president) but you sure can control whether you walk upright before the Lord, with the Holy Spirit.
We get to be the salt and light (Matt 5:13-16) by being like Christ. Giving God the glory with and through our lives (words, actions and all). Leading others to Jesus, not to silliness. Godly Character never gets a free pass to turn into worldly character just because one disagrees with another person. Spiritual maturity is truly shown in how one conducts themselves when they may not agree with someone. Exercising fruit (Gal 5:22,23). You can't show boldness in the things of God without having the fruits of His spirit. That's a cup half full, when we should be operating on a full cup of oil from God. A mindset shifting needs to take place. Honestly, humility is key! Let God get the Glory out of your life!
