"SWEET CHILI PESTO PASTA" Vegetarian Recipe From Shalayna Janelle's Kitchen (Daniel Fast Friendly Recipe)

Hey all, 

How are you? I wanted to share this recipe that I came up with with you? Who doesn't love a good pasta dish? Most do! Here is my "SWEET CHILI PESTO PASTA"
 By the way this is a vegetarian dish, as I am a Vegetarian/Pescetarian. But as with any recipe you can add meat to the ingredients if you'd like. For those of you who incorporate Daniel Fasts into your life, this recipe is 100% Daniel fast friendly. So let's get to the recipe! Yay!

(Disclaimer I cook by eye and taste not by measurements, so please bare with me)

•Whole wheat Pasta (penned is used in this recipe)... I like penned because they're more firm and chewy.
•Red onions
•Oil ( Olive, grapeseed or any oil of your choice)
•Chili Powder

1.Boil the Pasta until cooked to your liking

2.While the pasta is cooking shred or cut the cabbage into thin slices/trips.

3.Grade a generous amount of carrots(the MORE the better). The final product will not taste like carrots. The carrots add color to the dish and a sweet flavor.

4. Thinly slice about a 3rd about of onions as you did carrots. 

5. Pour a small amount of oil into a sauce pan/frying pan and put the temperature on high heat.

6. Place shredded cabbage, carrots & onions into the pan and leave for about 2-3 minutes then begin to mix. Leave it until the cabbage is fully cooked and soft.

7. Add the pasta in with the cabbage and veggie mix. Pour a small amount of oil should you need more so the pasta doesn't stick to the pan.

8. Add in salt, and chili powder according to your liking.

The end result should look like the photo above. The beginning result should look like the photo below.

Then it should begin to look like this when it starts to cook.
The final product should look this this.

The goal of the carrots, onions and chili powder is to mix together as a sweet pesto sauce. This is a quick and easy dish to make. It takes about 20 minutes tops to make for 2 people!
